Upper Pavenhill Habitat Bank delivers high‑quality Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) outcomes through targeted lowland meadow creation and hedgerow enhancement. Strategically located within the Wiltshire Local Planning Authority (LPA) area and the Upper Thames Clay Vales National Character Area (NCA), the site transforms previously intensively managed land into a resilient, species‑rich landscape.

Positioned close to Restrop Farm and Brockhurst Wood SSSI, the project draws inspiration from these nationally important sites. The design focuses on restoring neutral grassland through traditional hay meadow management, supported by pockets of native scrub and new species‑rich hedgerows that strengthen connectivity for pollinators, farmland birds and small mammals across the surrounding countryside.

Extensive public rights of way cross the site, offering opportunities for local engagement with nature recovery and traditional meadow restoration. Ongoing adaptive management will maintain the site’s biodiversity value throughout the 30‑year delivery period, ensuring long‑term success for both people and wildlife.

With its strategic position in North Wiltshire, Upper Pavenhill Habitat Bank supports BNG delivery both within and beyond Wiltshire LPA and the Upper Thames Clay Vales NCA.
