Langar Habitat Bank is one of our smaller partnership projects, but this 10‑hectare site still delivers significant nature recovery impact. As one of two new East Midlands habitat banks we’ve developed and now manage, it plays an important role in supporting biodiversity net gain (BNG) delivery and sustainable development across the region.
Located within the Rushcliffe Local Planning Authority (LPA) area and the Trent and Belvoir Vales National Character Area (NCA), the site supplies much‑needed medium distinctiveness Grassland and Mixed Scrub biodiversity units to developers across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and the wider East Midlands.
These units enable developers and housebuilders to meet statutory BNG requirements, offset habitat loss, and contribute directly to landscape‑scale ecological restoration within one of the region’s key nature recovery corridors.
With its strategic central location, the Langar Habitat Bank supports BNG delivery both within and beyond the Rushcliffe LPA and Trent and Belvoir Vales NCA, including developments in neighbouring LPA and NCAs.
